Rodriguez Group is aware of its responsibilities, either of an economic, social, environmental or cultural nature. The Group, as a corporate citizen, plays more than an economic role in society and assumes a genuine civic role. Through its mode of operation, the Group wishes to show that economic, environmental and social responsibilities are far from being incompatible.
Fighting injustice
Rodriguez Group is aware that mutual aid and sharing are essential values in a society. The Group is thus involved in various charitable projects.
The Group encourages its personnel to give their time, energy and creativity to the community where they work. The Group wants to set an example in this commitment to local communities. For the past six consecutive years, Rodriguez Group has been the main sponsor of the Golfe-Juan 24-hour Telethon. This running event has achieved international success and seven foreign countries took part this year. This event, which was initiated by employees, combines sportsmanship, excelling and most of all solidarity. This is a good example of the values the Group wishes to promote.
Rodriguez Group also wished to contribute, through a sponsorship agreement with the Alpes-Maritimes district Committee of the Ligue contre le Cancer charity, to financing a non-medical daytime facility open to cancer patients and their families.
The Group supported the local initiative of the Golfe-Juan Karate and Judo School, which organizes martial art shows for disabled children.
In 2007, the Golfe-Juan shipchandler donated a large quantity of clothes to the Libertacias charity (Law 1901), an organization caring for the underprivileged in the French Pacific islands.
By sending Médecins Sans Frontières new year’s greetings cards this year, Rodriguez Group chose to make its clients and partners aware of the dramatic consequences of malnutrition in Africa. Therefore, the Group contributed by giving this charity the means to treat children suffering from malnutrition.
Acting as a vibrant sponsor
Rodriguez Group supports cultural, sporting and charity events wherever the Group is established, in order to enhance the company’s relations with society.
The Group was, again this year, a privileged sponsor of the second edition of the Saint-Tropez “Été Culturel”. As it has an office there, Rodriguez Group wished to renew its role as a sponsor and make culture accessible to everyone. This year’s theme was “Mediterranean Dialogues”. This atypical exhibition enabled more than 80 artists from 16 Mediterranean countries to exhibit and introduce their creativity to the general public: paintings, sculptures, contemporary facilities, videos, photos... Saint-Tropez is indeed a town highly frequented by tourists and this artistic route was the opportunity for everyone to enjoy a cultural walk through the town while discovering artists and their work. This approach to art and culture, which combines highlighting
our heritage and discovering new talent, is the reason why Rodriguez Group was keen to sponsor this great event once again.
The Group is also involved in saving local historic heritage by contributing to the restoration of Saint Peter’s Church in Golfe-Juan. By financing the interior painting works, Rodriguez Group participates in renovating this 19th century church dedicated to Saint Peter, patron saint of fishermen.
As a major participant in the life of the Cannes and Golfe-Juan ports, the Group thus also wishes to help those who work there. This year, Rodriguez Group was again a financial partner of the Prud’homie des Pêcheurs (fishermen’s corporation). Mediterranean skippers communities are unique corporations on the French coast, which bring together all sea fishing professionals. In addition to being an auxiliary police force, prud’hommes corporations manage available resources, on a daily basis and with a long-term outlook, by establishing corporation rules that every fisherman has to abide by or they will otherwise be excluded from the corporation.
Rodriguez Group is one of Cannes volley ball team’s official sponsors. Since values associated with sport, such as excelling, fair play, team spirit, striving for excellence also apply to working in a company, the Group wishes to show its support for this top-level club.
